Description

“Fluttering Hearts”

This one of the artworks I made during my 2016 “Therapy & Recovery” years following 2014,  the year of my suffering a stroke.

Not only is it a good representation of how fragile life really IS, but also it concerns mostly the issues I encounter on the way towards long lasting moments of concentration, tenancy ànd shows perseverance, whilst making my artwork since then & nowadays ….

I  worked, simultaneously with the belief & with disbelief in the back of my head, that most probably I would never be able to hold ‘something’, paper, or any tool with my left crippled hand, knowing full well that left & right hand ( because having lost the sense of touch on the one side), would never ever actively both fully cooperate !

Nevertheless I had/have this ultimate wish to be able to continue making artwork, focusing on being able to create something beautiful, interesting, enlightening!

The most important part whilst on the path forward, was & is HOPE!

NB

in order to make this Artwork I was using special clamps(to clamp paper onto the table surface  whilst actively working).

The use of a pair of scissors, the most difficult tool, besides i.e. a pencil  proved hard to use with my handicap, but I wanted/ needed to be able to become proficient using both scissors and pencil, or indeed any tool with both left  crippled hand & able right hand! Resulting to a somewhat awkward corporation between both hands with  a varying interesting  outcome = HOPE!

Last but not least, the sun aiding towards and as extra boost-tool!

Especially ,the combined use of other various tools simultaneously, proved/proves to be an all energy absorbing, exhausting task !

The line-work  was drawn with the  crippled left hand, as part of my daily therapy: to stimulate the brain on a daily basis!
